The Walt Disney World Resort located in Orlando Florida is home to four separate theme parks as well as two water parks. These theme parks are the Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot and Hollywood Studios, the two water parks are Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon. Each theme park holds its own unique set of attractions, shows, rides, shops and entertainment! Hollywood Studios has some of the most exciting shows out of all the theme parks. With special effects and live shows you can come face to face with the world of television and action packed movies. One of the most popular shows at the theme park is the Indiana Jones Stunt Show Spectacular. The large stadium starts off covered in a dark cave, the Indiana Jones theme music starts playing and it appears as if nothing is happening. Then suddenly Indiana crashes through the ceiling with rocks and debris and is caught mid air by a rope. He lowers himself to the ground and then dodges spikes that shoot out of the ground. Telling you more would just ruin the show, but what makes the action adventure unique is that they show you how all the stunts are choreographed and coordinated before the scene starts.
One of the newest additions to the park is the American Idol Experience. Just like the popular television series this show brings contestants to the stage and lets them perform in front of a live audience! Every morning the park holds auditions, the best of the singers get tutored for several hours before the show starts. Then three contestants perform live on stage in front of you! At the end you vote for your favorite singer. That singer goes on to sing at the final show towards the parks closing time against other winners from the day. Finally if the contestant wins that show he or she is invited back for a weekend show where the winner gets a free pass to audition for the actual TV show! This fantastic show is complete with comical judges that parody the shows well known celebrities!
Some of the most popular rides in the park are the Star Tours 2.0 adventure and the Great Movie Ride. Star Tours takes you into the world of the classic hit series Star Wars. With a comical and clumsy droid as your guide you fly through space on what should have been a peaceful and insightful tour. Your fumbling droid takes you into the action and adventure as you end up participating in the bombing run on Death Star. Next when you enter the Great Movie Ride you will come face to face with some of your favorite actors from classic movies such as Alien and the Mummy! These action packed adventures jump off the big screen with the help of animatronics and actors, a theater enthusiast’s dream come true!
